Your ocean eyes always spoke for you. Everything you were too afraid to say, they screamed. it was like your heart was circuited straight to those azure orbs, spewing untold emotions. They always told the truth, whether you wanted them to or not. I wanted to lose myself in them, because they were the only part of you I could get lost in.
You were so secretive. You'd build a wall, and I'd sigh in frustration because it was the billionth one you'd built, and i knew you were going to make me knock it down again. But still, even when I defeated that terrible barrier, you didn't trust me. You'd think 'one more time, and I'll know for sure', but honey, you whispered that 12 walls ago.
Maybe it was the electrical shock of love that drove you away. Maybe it was that you were a virgin of love that made the thought of falling for someone so terrifying. But you were phobic of it, and I was losing my mind.
I just want to show you that love isn't something to be afraid of. It's not about meteors crashing and stars exploding, or fire nipping at tattered skin. It's not waves crashing and pulling you under until you can hear the ocean in your lungs. It's not about falling, but flying.
It's about all the little things you do that don't mean anything, but are the world to me. It's about stolen glances and flushed cheeks. it's about exposing yourself to someone you know won't hurt you. It's about trusting that your heart is in good hands.
If you would let me, I would show you how to take those sighing-into-coffee moments and turn them into waterfalls of happiness. I could show you that rainy days aren't bad ones, just alternative fun, or that diving into a lake doesn't have to be frightening, as long as we're jumping together. And in return, you could show me that You really are the one I was meant for.
If you would let me, I would show you that life is more beautiful when you're looking with your heart.

the way it feels when your heart breaks
you can't write words to talk about a muscle breaking
couldn't, even if it were bone.
muscle doesn't break, doesn't shatter;
a heart doesn't break like a bone, like a glass;
it breaks like only a muscle can.
you can shatter a million things,
muscle isn't one, not physically
but in the mind of one too preoccupied to notice it was caught,
trapped,
between the hands of something there aren't
enough words
to describe,
everything shatters
when those hands let go

A Moment
Place your hand over mine
Look me in the eye
Open my soul up and
Let it all unwind
Leave me dangling from a string
Wrapped around you, wrapped around my heart
Stretching, pulling,
Snapping
So what are you and I gonna do, my dear?

Her Life
I saw her life in those eyes
with cut-throat stares
and withered looks of daze,
each lid half open
and their cores darted where
they thought it was safe.
Her pupils swirled as hurricanes
with streaks of rain
maroon across a razor blade.
Sharing what words can't speak
and luring in the
sting of the day.
I saw her life in that skin,
painted with a tiny needle that could
delve deeper in what she knew
and who she was, then what.
Like an apple tossed aside to rot
darted across were plum-hue stains
and beautiful scars, an abstract dance of
healing and hurt.
Covered in what she screamed,
her body was masked in poetry,
long-tol
